Any employee who was willing to participate in the rescue mission was sent on a paid-leave. This resulted in a high number of employees who volunteered to participate on behalf of Nabors. The company became one of the well-represented companies in the rescue mission. On top of that, the workers and the CEO contributed $300,000 to the relief fund to support the same victims. Tony contributed an equal amount to what his workers contributed.

Another case of philanthropy which Tony Petrello has supported in the development is the first neurological research center in Texas. Tony has given $5 million to Texas Children’s Hospital which is behind the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Center. The center is trying to come up with a solution to the treatment of neurological disorders in children. Tony is one of those affected by such medical conditions through his daughter Carena who developed Cerebral Palsy after birth.
